๐ท HONORING OUR HEROES ON NATIONAL CUSTODIAN DAY & BRIAN DOMINICK DAY ๐งน
Today, Cicero District 99 proudly pauses to honor the unsung heroes of our schools โ our custodians. Every day and every night, these dedicated individuals work tirelessly to create clean, safe, and welcoming environments for our students, staff, and families.
From opening our doors in the early hours, ensuring classrooms shine, keeping hallways safe, maintaining heating and cooling systems, and responding to the unexpected at a moment's notice โ our custodians do it all. They are the backbone of our schools, the quiet force that allows learning to happen each and every day.
๐ But for us, this day carries an even deeper meaning. In D99, National Custodian Day is also "Brian Dominick Day". We celebrate it in memory of our beloved former Director of Building and Grounds, Brian Dominick, who left us far too soon exactly a year ago. Brian was more than a leader โ he was a friend, a mentor, and a cornerstone of our community. His passion, kindness, and unwavering dedication left a mark that will never fade.
Today, we honor our custodians for their daily sacrifices, and we honor Brian for the legacy he left behind. Together, they remind us that true greatness often comes not in the spotlight, but in quiet acts of service, commitment, and care.
๐ To our custodial team: thank you. We see you. We appreciate you. We couldn't do this without you.
๐ To Brian: your legacy lives on in every clean classroom, every safe hallway, and in the hearts of all who knew you.
